- (1898-1967)Yugoslav author. He initially wrote verse, fiction and drama. After engaging in revolutionary activities, he fled to Paris, where he wrote The Optimists. He returned to Yugoslavia in 1939, and wrote novels, short stories, essays and literary studies. His novel the Law of Aaron deals with a Jewish Revolutionary who fought in the Spanish Civil War. In 1959 he became professor of Hungarian language and literature at the University of Novu Sacz.
